چکیده

Dental caries is the most prevalent oral disease that continues to affect almost every country in world. The contemporary management of dental focuses on non-restorative, non-invasive, and micro-invasive treatment approaches arrest or reverse process at a lesion level reduce loss sound tooth structure. One these employment arresting agents possess antibacterial remineralizing properties. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has drawn significant attention as an efficient agent children adults. major limitation with use SDF dark black staining carious tissue compromises esthetics. ions are known for their antimicrobial effects, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have added advantage it increases surface area exposure microbes. Literature reports AgNPs potential against predominant cariogenic flora. It led development nanosilver (NSF), new colloid based AgNPs, chitosan, fluoride. shown overcome clinical limitations does not cause staining. However, current scientific literature lacks comprehensive review benefits using NSF prevention arrest. Thus, purpose this paper was studies trials agent, including actions modulation demineralization-remineralization balance.

Arresting Early Childhood Caries with Silver Diamine Fluoride-A Literature Review

Early childhood caries (ECC) has been regarded as one of the most prevalent chronic diseases in early childhood. Many studies show ECC was often neglected and most of the decay was left untreated [1]. Early treatment of ECC is important because untreated caries can lead to pain, sepsis and spreading infection, malnutrition due to the inability to eat, and poor general health. Children with seve...

Efficacy of silver diamine fluoride for Arresting Caries Treatment.

Arresting Caries Treatment (ACT) has been proposed to manage untreated dental caries in children. This prospective randomized clinical trial investigated the caries-arresting effectiveness of a single spot application of: (1) 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) with tannic acid as a reducing agent; (2) 38% SDF alone; (3) 12% SDF alone; and (4) no SDF application in primary teeth of 976 Nepalese s...
